About Us:
Our museum features five large buildings (26,000 sq ft) (one building just used for storage) on a beautiful six-acre site. Its mission is to recapture a century of stories about farm life. Implements, tools, tractors and gas engines in mint condition along with rural art help you look back to an era when neighbors worked together to harvest their crops, raise barns and build a better life for their families. Enjoy an afternoon browsing on your own or guided tours always available.

History:
When the Hanley Falls School closed their doors for the last time in the spring of 1978, the Yellow Medicine County bought the building. Members of the County Historical Society Board encouraged development of an agricultural museum at the site. Our museum opened in 1980 as an Agricultural and Transportation Museum, inviting the Pioneer Power Machinery Club to hold their Threshing Show on our grounds. See how our small Southwestern Minnesota community transformed the school into an agricultural learning center, devoting its 26,000 sq. ft. to interpreting rural life, past, present and future. A delightful afternoon awaits as you explore the farm home rooms, general store, vintage automobiles, railroad memorabilia; along with farm toys, country art and a gift shop.
Four large buildings are filled with beautifully restored gas engines and tractors dating back to 1912. You're invited to step into the past by taking part in our Old Time Threshing Show in August. Facilities, picnic area and parking all handicapped accessible. A friendly smile and guided tour always welcome you.
