In 2011, Yellow Medicine County reorganized the duties statutorily and historically delegated to the Auditor/Treasurer to be split between two departments; Property & Public Services and Finance & Administration.


Property & Public Services was delegated the duties involving Property Taxation and Collection, Elections Administration, Licensing of non-DMV activities, and the issuing of Certificates of Taxes Payable for Government Entity Bonding.


Finance & Administration was delegated the duties of being Clerk to the County Board, managing the County's financial activities including budgeting, payroll, investments and accounting, and coordinating human resources functions and personnel issues.
