The Public Services Division is responsible for a wide variety of tasks ranging from property tax calculation to elections and licensing. Please click on the area below for more information.
Vital Statistics
Public Services is responsible to maintain all Vital Statistics Records consisting of birth, death and marriage documents and registers all Notary Public Commissions and Ordination Papers.
Property Taxation
Public Services is responsible for calculating, collecting and distributing property tax assessments as certified by local taxing authorities. Also, all special assessments, ditch assessments and Tax Increment Financing Districts are certified with our Division.
Tax Forfeiture
Public Services administers the property tax forfeiture process.
Elections
Public Services is responsible for the administration of tasks associated with Federal, State and Local elections. Tasks include voter registration, candidate filings, training of election clerks/judges, and the reporting of election results to the MN Secretary of State’s Office.
Licensing
Public Services is responsible for issuance of 3.2 beer, liquor, tobacco, auctioneer and precious metal dealer licenses.
