Grants Available to Low Income Households to Replace Non-Conforming Septic Systems
Yellow Medicine County has received a Grant to assist low income homeowner's upgrade their non-conforming septic system. In order to qualify for the grant, the existing septic system must be non-conforming (as determined by the County Zoning Office), the property taxes must be current, and the home must not be imminently subject to repossession, forfeiture or foreclosure, and the applicant must meet income guidelines. Cost share is available at either 75%, 50% or 35% of the cost of the septic system, based on the homeowner's income. Income guidelines are based on household size and are as follows:

This grant can be used in conjunction with other Yellow Medicine County grants and loan programs, if the applicant meets the requirements.
