Yellow Medicine County Comprehensive Plan Draft
YELLOW MEDICINE COUNTY DRAFT COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
Over the last year and a half, Yellow Medicine County has been working on updating its comprehensive plan. Comprehensive Plans are a way for cities and counties to think holistically and long-term, and can focus on topic areas of interest including housing, transportation, economic development, public facilities/services and future land use. These plans can also provide guidance on how to best to use county resources over the coming years. Comprehensive plans are considered vision and policy documents and must remain relatively general and conceptual in nature.
The County contracted with the Upper MN Valley Regional Development Commission to lead this effort along with a task force of county staff and township representatives. A public survey was conducted last summer to collect input from residents. Using this input, the task force met several times over the last year to develop short and long term goals and strategies and are now ready to share the draft plan with you.
