An internal County department responsible for all facets of technology in Yellow Medicine County.  Including planning and forecasting, researching new and possible technology uses, administering the county's network and providing computer training and support on various software products.  Provides quality information technology services, solutions and support for each department.

Services and Responsibilities

The Information Technology Department supports the operations of Yellow Medicine County through the provision, implementation and daily operation of countywide information systems and services.
Networking Services for the county courthouse and off site departments. Manage, design, install and maintain the County network backbone, LAN, WAN, and County servers operating systems.
Technical support - provides implementation and help desk services for the County’s workstation computers, printers, software, copiers, telecommunication systems, etc.
The IT Department interacts with all County, State, City, other county, public and vendor entities.
Manages file, email, print servers, network security,  and related hardware and software.

• Addresses county’s telecommunication needs to enhance effectiveness of operations.
• Advises staff in the purchase of technology-related purchases and prepare quote/bid
packages for Board approval of such purchases.
• Serves as the county contact for all technology-related needs and concerns.
• Installs, repairs and upgrades workstations, servers, telephone systems and related
hardware.
• Troubleshoots all technology related hardware, software and related items.
• Creates and maintains the county internal and external websites
• Systems Administration for the county's computer systems and network.
